Mission San Luis Rey & Legoland

We went with the McGuires to the San Luis Rey mission and then over to a fun filled day at Legoland. Cassie and her friend Kylie are going to be studying California history this year in 4th grade. Hopefully having some exposure to some of the missions will help them understand the history a little easier. This is the mission that my mom has gone to retreats in and stayed in the monastery part of it.

Sad to say it, but this is the best family picture we've taken recently. Someday we will get a picture that not only has everybody in the same shot at the same time, but looking at the camera too. I know it's a lofty goal, but other people seem to be able to have it -- why not me? This was taken at Legoland. We had tons of fun at Legoland and came better prepared for the heat this time. The kids wore their bathing suits and were totally prepared for the water adventure part. Unfortunately we didn't prepare Jeremy for the huge bucket of water that pours down on people and he got scared after getting doused.
Jon took him on the water gun ride and I think they both had a lot of fun there. The girls were able to shoot back at them with their own water guns.

Cassie and Kylie shooting me with water.
Eliza was such a good baby and didn't fuss at all. She is a wonderful baby and so easy to take places. I don't think that I can say that enough.
We did end up "feeding" all the kids to the sharks.

This time we got Jeremy and Cassie to ride on a little roller coaster. Normally they refuse and start crying. I went with Jeremy and the attendent was sending each group of people through twice. Jeremy was scared the first time through but halfway through the second trip he began to like it. They both went on it a couple of times. Jon and I are hoping that they will start to like roller coasters. Goodness knows that we do.
